According to the Leaders of the ADC, KOWA, PPA, AA, Accord Party, UPN, APA, HDP, YDP, Independent Democrat, ACPN and NNPP, the decision to shut out other aspirants to run on their platforms and adopt Dickson, the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, was based on performance and the assurance that the state is in a safe hands.
