The association, in a communiqué jointly signed its Chairman, Dr Innocent Abang and the Public Relations Officer, Dr Besong Akotanchi, said it would not suspend the strike until the state government improved the security architecture of the state.

Abang, who made the appeal at a press briefing on Wednesday in Calabar on the issue of the kidnap of a second medical doctor, Godwin Udo, announced that doctors in the state have immediately commenced an indefinite strike pending the unconditional release of their colleague.
