This alert, it said, has become necessary in the light of recent warnings by the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency, which has the responsibility of monitoring the river flows in the country. 

The agency gave the warning on Wednesday in Abuja in a statement signed by Clement Nze, the agency’s Director of Engineering Hydrology.
