The Minister said it was high time the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Republic of the Sudan changed the concept of economic co-operation and stop restricting economic co-operation to just buying of oil or selling of machineries.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said the government is aware that some opportunists have been going from one government organization to another with notes purportedly recommending them for contracts and other patronage

Speaking to newsmen, Mohammed said the factors that unite the nation were greater than those that divide it and the people should dwell on the oneness of the country
At the meeting, held at the headquarters of the UNWTO, Nigeria also expressed interest in hosting the 60th meeting of the global Agency’s Commission for Africa in 2018 in order to attract global attention to tourism in the country
In the area of security, the minister said when Buhari came on board, 14 of the 20 Local Government Areas of Borno State, four in Adamawa State and three in Yobe State were under the sovereign authority of Boko Haram
“There is the existence of political will and we can feel it from outside (the country),” Rifai said on Tuesday at the opening of a two-day meeting with the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in Madrid, Spain

Mohammed said the Committee would commence the audit of procurement from 2007 to 2010 as soon as the necessary documents are available.
“When the documents regarding procurement from 2007 to 2010 are available and scrutinized, the committee will then issue its report on that. The audit is being done on phases, and the report that was released on Thursday is the third of such,” the Minister said
The minister, represented by Peter Dama, the Director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, said the pilot launch had been done in Jos, the Plateau State capital
Speaking at the 6th African Digital TV Development Seminar in Beijing, China on Thursday, the Minister said the decision to engage in shared experiences and synergy on a continental level was reached by the African Ministers in charge of Information and Communication, who attended the 3rd Forum on China-Africa Media Cooperation also in Beijing, which preceded the Seminar
