Nwogu, a 30-year-old club owner in Ikeja area of the State, was arrested on Wednesday by the police on the orders of the Lagos State Government after news emerged on social media of the development

Specifically the suspects would be arraigned on eight count charges relating to kidnapping of the monarch, murder of the palace security guard, Sunday Eniola Okanlawon, and a commercial motorcycle rider, Joseph Okeke
The Government, in a statement issued by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Adeniji Kazeem, said the four suspects – Duba Furejo, Ododomo Isaiah, Reuben Anthony and Yerin Fresh – would be prosecuted in accordance with the relevant laws applicable to the alleged crimes committed
Speaking while inaugurating the Task Force, the State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Adeniji Kazeem, said the administration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode is determined to apply the full weight of the law to permanently address the issue, adding that the havoc and unrest being caused by land grabbers was no longer acceptable
Kadeem said: “Under the Personal Income Tax Act, a taxable person is statutorily required to file a return of income for the preceding year within 90 days from the commencement of every year of assessment (March 31st being the deadline), while every employer of labour is required to file all emoluments paid to its employees for the preceding year, not later than 31st of January each year

The trial judge, Justice Abdulfatal Lawal, had fixed the matter for hearing of the applications for stay of execution of the earlier judgment delivered by the court on October 23, 2015, but elected to decline further jurisdiction after confirming that the records of proceedings have been transmitted to the Court of Appeal
The Court will on the next adjourned date also entertain arguments on a similar application filed by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission seeking stay of execution of the judgment pending appeal
Kazeem in a statement said the government, having not been satisfied with the verdict, has filed a Notice of Appeal and motion for Stay of Execution of the judgment before the Appeal Court in Lagos
