Nnamdi Oduamadi, Nigeria’s goal scorer against the Harambee Stars of Kenya in Saturday’s 2014 World Cup qualifier, has promised to score more goals for the Super Eagles in subsequent matches.
Oduamadi, a second half substitute, scored a stoppage time goal to avert doom for the African Champions, who were trailing 0-1.
“I thank Nigerians for all their prayers and I promise not to let you down,” he said via twitter after the game.
The former Dream Team midfield maestro described the Kenyans as very lucky to have secured a draw inside the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.
The Italy-based player said that the home draw would not stop the Super Eagles from making it to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Although the Super Eagles still maintain their leadership of the group, they have a mountain to climb with an away win recorded by joint group leaders, Malawi, against Namibia on Saturday.
