Rather than support a political party, veteran Nollywood actress, Joke Silva, along with Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, the Project Coordinator and Founder of Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy and Development, were in Sokoto State to see the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, to discuss enlightening the electorates and averting election violence in the country.
Joke Silva, who is a council member of the group, while addressing the forum, stated that the organisation is not a partisan group, stressing the need for conducive environment both during and after the elections.
Abubakar, who was happy to receive the group, promised to do everything possible to ensure that there is no violence in the state during the general elections.
He honoured the actress by giving her a book on leadership to read in her leisure.
