Liverpool striker, Luis Suarez, is set to join Barcelona after completing his medical with the La Liga side.
The 27-year-old Uruguayan is expected to complete his move to the Nou Camp within the next 48 hours and has agreed personal terms with the Catalan outfit.
The former Ajax man will sign a five-year deal worth a reported £170,000 a week and the deal will be part funded by Barcelona’s imminent sale of Chilean Alexis Sanchez to Arsenal.
Though the cost of the move is thought to cost Barcelona £63 million, only £54 million of that fee will be up front with the rest being paid in instalments.
New Barcelona boss, Luis Enrique, is in the process of conducting a major re-shuffling of his squad with Cesc Fabregas having already completed his move to Chelsea and veterans Victor Valdes and Carles Puyol also leaving the club, whilst keepers Marc-André Stegen and Claudio Bravo and Croatian playmaker, Ivan Rakitic, will be joining this summer.
Suarez finished 2013/14 as the Premier League’s leading goal-scorer having netted an impressive 31 times whilst playing a pivotal role in Liverpool’s genuine title challenge.
