For the third year in a row, the Malta Scrabble Club and Centrestar are teaming up to offer a mouth-watering double serving of competitive scrabble in Malta.
As it is usual, there will be the 4th European Open Scrabble Championship between May 11 and 14 and the 5th Malta International Scrabble Open from May 18 to 20, with a total of 56 games and a minimum total prize money of €3,000.
The two organisations have chosen the Paradise Bay Resort Hotel, in Mellieha, as a venue for this appetising double event.
The new venue is located in the Northwest of Malta.
The hotel offers fantastic recreational facilities, breathtaking sea views and it is only a stone’s throw away from Gozo and Comino, Malta’ s sister islands.
Beside, Malta’s new bus service provides regular access to the urban centre of the island.
Both tournaments will be directed by Amy Byrne and broadcast live on the web by John Chew.
It would be recalled that Nigeria’s Lukman Owolabi won the first edition. Chinedu “Sidespin” Okwelogu attended last year and came third.
