Several persons, including military and police personnel, were feared killed on Saturday when members of the dreaded sect, Boko Haram, attacked Babbangida town in Yobe State.
Babbangida town, which is 50 kilometres North of Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, is in Tamuwa Local Government Area.
The insurgents arrived in the town at about 7pm.
The insurgents attacked among others the military base, police station, local government area secretariat and the primary school in Babbangida.
Before the attack on Babbangida town, members of the Boko Haram sect had stormed other major towns in Yobe State towards the end of 2014.
These were Damaturu, Damagum and Geidam, which were attacked in December.
The attack on Saturday is the first in 2015.
