Scores feared dead in Adamawa market explosion

Scores of people were feared dead in a deadly blast that rocked the Gombi Market in Adamawa State on Friday, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
Confirming the incident, the Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency, Malam Haruna Furo, said the agency was trying to get details of casualties.
Furo said the agency was yet to determine whether the blast was caused by a suicide bomber or a planted bomb.
The Public Relations Officer of the Adamawa State Police Command, DSP Othman Abubakar, said that four persons, including the suicide bomber, died.
Abubakar said 17 others were injured.
A source at Gombi Market, who simply identified himself as Umar, said the incident occurred at the grains section of the market and that it was a suicide mission by a boy.
“It is a young boy that carried out the mission,” Umar said.
