Buying a car could be easier if you considered fuel efficiency, safety and value because this would only lead to one answer: the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
The E-Class is instantly recognisable!
The exterior of the Mercedes-Benz model offers masculinity and sporty styling, with its reworked front section setting the tone for the rest of the car, distinctive two louvre radiator grilles flanked by one piece partial LED headlamps plus a muscular front apron and large air creating a lean agile look.
The car is fitted standard with 9 spoke alloy wheels with 205/60 R 16 tyres or 225/55R 16 tyres (depending on engine for 4 and 6 cylinder models).
There are also other wheel models that can be chosen if preferred.
The exceptional imagery continues in the revised interior which provides all passengers with maximum comfort.
The car blends exclusive style with high quality materials.
The new, two part trim on the dashboard is what first catches the eye; it stretches across the entire width of the interior and compliments the generous amount of space.
The E-Class boasts an infotainment system with internet, and also comes in a range of new interior colours that add to the impressive value and clear individualisation it already possesses.
Safety is always a vital component in the design of Mercedes Benz vehicles, and by the brand integrating that as a core concept, it brings the E-Class closer to improving safety in any situation.
For example, the possession of new and improved assistance systems, which are also available in the S-Class, take the burden off the driver by automatically keeping the vehicle in its lane and also tracking traffic in tailbacks.
The LED headlamps and permanent high-beam with no dazzling boost safety when driving at night.
For the first time, there are also systems that can prevent accidents involving crossing traffic or pedestrians.
This extensive concept is split into four phases.
The first phase promotes safe driving: a feature of this is the ATTENTION ASSIST, which is able to analyse driving behaviours and detect lapses in concentration or increasing drowsiness.
The second phrase aims to control critical situations.
Phases three and four focus on the impact of an accident whereby the car is fitted with safety equipment, the knee bag being one of them.
What is more, with its new engines the model achieves optimum values in terms of efficiency.
There is a wide selection of new, tried and trusted engines with innovative technologies that reduce the burden on the environment ever further.
The E-Class combines irresistible performance characteristics with low consumptions. Injection pressure has been increased, smoothness of operation enhanced and noise levels optimised, whilst reducing the compression leading to lower emissions.
The 4-cyclinder petrol engine comes with a choice of two power outputs: the E200 with 135kW (184hp) and a maximum torque of 270 Nm (manual transmission) or 300Nm (7G-TRONIC PLUS).
The E300 and E400 are both powered with the 6 cyclinder petrol engine. The twin turbochargers result in a significant increase in the torque and output-with a lower displacement.
Overall, all engines are environmentally safe, offer lower fuel consumption as well as carbon dioxide emissions, and feature the built in ECO start/stop function.
The E-Class represents a major step forward in every respect.
The design elicits plenty of emotion, causing a stir in its sector. Its technical highlights are unique.
It is a high-tech package – and a very attractively packaged one at that.
According to the Managing Director of Weststar Associates Limited, the Authorised General Distributor of Mercedes-Benz vehicles in Nigeria, Mirko Plath: “The E-Class, no doubt, successfully defended its leading position in the premium segment in 2014 and will certainly do so again in the current year.”
The E-Class is available at any of Weststar’s Mercedes-Benz Authorised dealerships, that is Barbedos Cars Limited, Skymit Motors, M-B Automobile Services and Sunny Motors.
