Rescued Uber passenger jumped into lagoon after killing girlfriend — Police

A Uber passenger, Princewill David, who jumped into the lagoon through the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos, did so in order to escape justice after allegedly killing his girlfriend.
This was revealed on Thursday by the Commissioner, Lagos State Police Command, Hakeem Odumosu, while briefing the press.
Odumosu said David, a resident of Tajudeen Balogun Street, Igando, Lagos, had boarded the Uber from his residence to the Lekki area of the state on February 27, 2020 and on getting to the Third Mainland Bridge around 12am, told the driver to stop to allow him to urinate.
However, the driver refused to stop.
Rather he drove to where personnel of the Rapid Response Squad were stationed on the bridge to alert them.
But before he could alert the policemen, David jumped into the lagoon.
He, however, landed on some floating logs of wood underneath the bridge, which resulted in his being rescued by a combined team of the RRS, Marine Police and some local divers.
Odumosu said: “He had an altercation with his girlfriend and killed her in a hotel and went to jump into the lagoon to escape justice for the crime he committed.”
