The Federal Road Safety Corps in Nasarawa State has so far screened about 1000 applicants for various vacant positions existing in the state in its ongoing nationwide recruitment exercise.
The officer in charge of the recruitment in Nasarawa, Corps Commander Olatunji Sunday, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Lafia.
Sunday said that applicants with first degree, Higher National Diploma, National Certificate in Education, National Diploma and Secondary School Certificate were among those screened.
He said: “The screening has been a success so far. I spoke to the applicants and they have been wonderful and cooperative.
“We don’t have any problem so far. For now, we have screened about a thousand applicants with few more to go.”
According to him in addition to their certificates, the heights, chests and feet of the applicants were checked to ensure they were physically fit and healthy to work for the corps.
He also gave the assurance that the corps officials were fair in the screening and appealed to applicants to accept whatever recommendations submitted to the FRSC headquarters on their performance.
He said: “I addressed them before starting the process and told them they should feel free to participate.
“I just want them to do their best when participating in the tasks they are expected to participate in and leave the rest to God.
“If they make it, fine; if they don’t make it, fine. It is not the end of the world.
“There are other places they can get jobs. That they don’t get it now does not mean that if they try next time, they won’t get it.”
Sunday said that the exercise would last till September 29.
