PSF lauds Gov. Shettima over fight against Boko Haram, citizens welfare

The Progressives Solidarity Forum has commended what it described as the giant strides of Governor Shetima of Borno State in enhancing security and welfare of the citizens of the state despite the incessant attacks from the terrorist group, Boko Haram, that has inflicted major developmental setbacks on the state over the past years.
This was made known through the statement by the PSF National Director for Media, Publicity and Information, Rekiya Onayi Sanni.
PSF lauded the governor’s integration of the Civilian JTF into the fight against insurgency.
This he did with a N20m donation to the Civilian JTF towards securing the lives and property of the people in the state. 
The statement by Sanni said: “The integration of Civilian JTF in Borno State with about N20million is a commendable measure in securing the lives and properties of citizens in Borno State.
“Governor Kashim Shettima became one of the few frontiers of the implementation of the ‘2001 Abuja Declaration’ by the African Leaders on Government Allocation. He approved the allocation of 15% total budget of the fiscal year (N135billions) to improving access to healthcare delivery services in Borno State.”
“The Progressives Solidarity Forum identifies with Governor Kashim Shettima and commends his resolve to mitigating and cushioning the effects of Boko Haram in the citizens of Borno State. The Progressives Solidarity Forum (PSF) therefore encourages other progressive governors to emulate the true virtues and ideals of Progressive Governance by making it a governance of the ‘Common Man’.”
PSF further urged other partners to use their core competencies to assist the North East in mitigating the impacts of insurgencies in the communities.
It said: “The Change Agenda Partnership could involve private individuals, social entrepreneurs, non-government organisations and developmental partners to assist in driving the mission to rebuild these states that have severely been battered by insurgents.
”We encourage accountable implementation of this 15% budgetary allocation of Borno State by ensuring a balance between direct healthcare access and infrastructure development, the statement added.”
