President Dilma Rousseff of Brazil is in Abuja, Nigeria on a one-day State visit.
Rousseff arrived the fore court of the State House at 11.08am and was received by President Goodluck Jonathan.
Also on hand to receive her were the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Gbenga Ashiru; Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonji-Iweala; Petroleum Resources, Dezani Allison-Madueke; Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah; Education, Prof. Ruqayat Ru’fai; Trade and Investment, Dr. Olusegun Aganga; Agriculture, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina; Culture and Tourism, Chief Edem Duke; and presidential aides.
She was honoured with the traditional 21 gun salute after which she inspected the Guard of Honour mounted by the Brigade of Guards.
After the welcome ceremony, the two leaders are now holding bilateral talks on how to further expand trade and economic relations between Nigeria and Brazil.
