Officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force, Ondo State Command have vowed to nab Taju Ayuba, suspected to have abducted his nephew, Modupeoluwa Amos Saka.
Saka is 29 months and was abducted by Ayuba in Ijebu Owo, Owo Local Government Area of the Ondo State.
According to the spokesperson of the police in Ondo State, ASP Wole Ogodo, the operatives of State Anti Robbery Squad have rescued Amos Modupeoluwa Saka from the kidnappers hideout after spending five days in their den.
It was gathered that it was during investigation after two of the kidnap suspects; Ganiyu Oseni (29) of 43, Oke Ijebu Owo and Oderinde Joshua (18) of Owaluwa Street, Owo were apprehended, that it was revealed that it was Ayuba that was the mastermind of the kidnap.
It was gathered that the father of the victim, Hassan Saka, who is the proprietor of Dominion Group of Schools in Ijebu Owo, is a half brother to the fleeing culprit.
It was gathered that Hassan had reported to the police on October 9 at about 9pm that a three-man gang had invaded his house and carted away N50,000 and forcefully took his son from his wife.
According to sources, the abductors, who escaped on a motorcycle, called Hassan to pay N4.5 million as ransom to get his son back.
The case was reported to SARS and the operatives swung into action.
It was during the investigation that they arrested a prime suspect, Oderinde, who was feeding the victim at the an uncompleted building along Achievers University Road, Owo.
Oseni was also arrested at the scene.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that it was after Oseni and Oderinde were caught that investigation revealed that Taju had collected money from his half brother, Hassan, twice with the intent that he wanted to start a boutique and the second time that he wanted to open a car wash, which he never did.
It was revealed that Taju approached Hassan the third time that he should assist him financially again that he wanted to travel out, which Hassan refused based on the excuse that he wanted to help his other siblings also since he had spent so much on him without anything to show for it.
This was why Taju wanted to get back at his brother and he decided to kidnap his nephew (Amos), who spent five days in the kidnappers den.
Ogodo, who confirmed the incident, said Oseni and Oderinde were led by fleeing Taju to carry out the operation.
The confessed that they kidnapped the victim in the presence of his parents at gunpoint and collected all available money with them.
The police image maker said the boy was kept in an uncompleted building where he was bound with rope.
He noted that no ransom was paid and effort is in top gear to arrest the fleeing suspect and to recover their guns.
However it was gathered that Oseni and Oderinde have been remanded in Olokuta Medium Prison by an Akure Magistrate court on October 18, 2013.
