The Lagos State Police Command has recovered 1060 rounds of live ammunition, 25 magazines and other weapons from an apartment in Festac, area of the State.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmos, revealed this in a statement on Monday.
Badmos said the recovery was made based on intelligence gathering.
She said: “We have discovered some arms and ammunitions in an apartment on 5th avenue, Festac. The live ammunitions, totalling 1060 rounds, were recovered from the apartment. Other exhibits recovered include two AK 47 rifles, 24 magazines of AK47, 1 magazine of brownie pistol, with some face masks and assorted charms.”
Badmos said the arms and ammunitions recovered were piled up in readiness for robbery operations.
She further said: “Reliable intelligence gathering and quick response of the operatives of the command averted the course and foiled the operations.”
