Police arrest member of terrorist group led by man already declared wanted

The Katsina State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old suspected terrorist, Murtala Amme, whose leader, Kamillu Buzaru, has been on Police Wanted List.

The Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, a Superintendent of Police, Gambo Isah, made this known.

He said on November 11, 2022 at about 5pm, the Command succeeded in arresting Amme, of Unguwar Mazare, Danmusa LGA of Katsina State.

Isah said: “In the course of investigation, the suspect confessed to belonging to the camp of one Kamilu Buzaru, a notorious terrorist, on the wanted list of the police, terrorising Danmusa LGA and its environs.

“Furthermore, the suspect confessed to have participated in several attacks on communities in the area leading to kidnappings for ransom and cattle rustlings.

“He mentioned Nagge, Abu, Habu, Hamisu and Ahmed, all at large as his as his accomplices.”
