The Katsina State Police Command has arrested a notorious thief and ex-convict who specialises in theft of motorcycle.
It was learnt that on October 27, 2020 at about 12noon, based on a tip off, the Command succeeded in arresting one Buhari Dalhatu, 25, of Turaruka Quarters, Katsina, a habitual criminal and an ex-convict with three records of conviction.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed the development in a statement.
According to Isah, the suspect was arrested at the premises of General Hospital, Katsina, where he was identified by one of his victims, Bishir Sani of Rafin Dadi Quarters, Katsina, as the thief that stole his motorcycle.
The PPRO stated that in the course of investigation, Dalhatu confessed to have stolen the said motorcycle, Deolim City Plus, Robber-Robber, valued for about N95,000 on October 25 at the hospital premises, which he sold to one Attle of Jibia Town, now at large, at the cost of N45,000.
Furthermore, he also confessed to have stolen one Jincheng Robber Motorcycle belonging to one Turare Amadu, of Katsina, valued at N185,000.
Isah noted that several sets of jeans trousers and shirts as well as caftan dresses, one new set of Maxi Generator, one set of Marks and Spencer Desktop computer, the sum of N95,035 cash were among the exhibits recovered in his possession during the police search.
He added that investigation was ongoing.
