The Delta State Police Command has arrested one, Larry Onifon, 24, an alleged drug dealer, who claims to be a fashion designer.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, disclosed the information in a statement he issued on Thursday.
It was gathered that on Tuesday, at about 9am, acting on intelligence, the Command’s Crack Surveillance team raided a blackspot in Okwuchi Quarters, Eku, where Onifidon was arrested, while other suspects took to their heels.
According to Edafe, the following exhibits were recovered: 40 packets of 100mg Tramadol, 89 wraps of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp, four sachets of Swinol, three containers of Loud and 55 wraps of substances suspected to be cocaine.
He noted that the suspect also stated that the cartel, popularly called OBJ cartel, is owned by one of the fleeing suspects named OBJ.
The PPRO noted that the suspect is in custody while a manhunt for the other fleeing suspects is ongoing.
Similarly, on the Monday at about 9pm, the Command Raider’s operatives raided a criminal hideout at Agbo, during which 25 male suspected cultists were arrested.
Edafe stated that some of the suspects confessed being members of Black Axe Confraternity and Junior Supreme Aiye Confraternity.
He noted that investigation is ongoing.
The PPRO stated that the Commissioner of Police Delta State, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, while appreciating officers and men for their tireless efforts in the fight against crime and criminality, admonished them to be alive to their responsibilities and discharge their duties effectively.
The CP thanked members of the public and other stakeholders for their continuous support and partnership with the Command.
Ali assured all that the Command under his watch will not let them down.
