Plateau deputy governor heads education as 17 others get portfolios as Commissioners

Governor Simon Lalong has appointed his Deputy, Prof. Sonni Tyoden, to oversee the Ministries of Education, Science and Technology and Higher Education in Plateau State.
Lalong also assigned portfolios to newly-appointed commissioners.
They included Hon Mwankon Peter John for Tourism, Culture and Hospitality; Hon. Ezekiel Daju, Commerce and industry; Barrister Jonathan Mawiyau as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice; Architect Samuel A. Galadima, Housing and Urban Development; and Hon Pam G.Dongs  for Works and Transport.
Others include Alhaji Dayyabu Yusuf Garga, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs; Tamwakat Weli, Finance; Engr Ja’afaru Wuyep, Water resources; Mallam Nafiz Ahmed, Information and Communication; Hon. Hittler Fankun Dadi, Special duties; Lynda Hennang Barau, Agriculture and Natural Resources; Hon. Joseph Mairiga Alex, Education, Science and Technology and Secondary Education; Dr. Kunden Kamshak Deyin, Health; Rofina Gurumyen, Women Affairs and Social Development; Hon. Danladi Mann, Youth and Sport Development; Barrister Festus Velnoe Funanter, Land, Survey and Town Planning; and Alhaji Abdullahi Garba Abbas, Environment and Mineral Development.
At the swearing-in of the commissioners at Little Rayfield, Jos, Governor Lalong challenged the appointees to be selfless, diligent and faithfully with the fear of God and ensure effectiveness and efficiency in service delivery to the people of Plateau State.
Lalong said as human beings, there could be errors in governance, adding: “We have built confidence in our people and have seen the sincere support and cooperation of our people.
“We will work together to surmount all the remained hurdles and to further strengthen the confidence of people in government.”
Lalong appealed to those whose expectations were not met in the composition of the State Executive Council to please forget the bickering over the appointments and engaged themselves in prayers and support the office holders.
He commended the patriotic zeal of the members of the Plateau State House of Assembly and promised that they will continue to work harmoniously for the development of the state.
