The Youths Vanguard in Plateau State has urged the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission to pronounce the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Hon. Nanmwa Godwin Kumzhi, as the winner of the February 25 local government poll in Langtang North.
Speaking to journalists in Jos after the court ruling over the post-election matter, presided over by Justice S. P. Gang, the Chairman of the association, Nanven John, said the outcome of the election showed Kumzhi won with a wide margin.
John said owing to this, he should be declared the winner because the Jat ward result was not part of what the Democratic Peoples Party is in court to contest.
It is on record that the Plateau State local government election was held on February 25, 2014 and the result of the Langtang North LG position is still pending with the PLASIEC.
The election was devoid of rancour and acrimony except that of the Jat ward, resulting in the delay by the Returning Officer of Langtang North Local Government Area.
It was also gathered that the DPP and its candidate in the election, Dan Dul, have been charged to accept the outcome of the election.
