PDP goes after defectors’ supporters in Delta

The sledge hammer of the Peoples Democratic Party has fallen on the executive members of the party in Aniocha North Local Government Area where the Chairman of the party in the locality, Chief Nnamdi Moayin, his Secretary and the Woman Leader were suspended for anti-party activities.

The Eagle Online gathered that the trio were caught fraternizing with the immediate past Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, who has decamped to the Accord Party.

Those supporting Ovie Omo-Agege, the former Secretary to State Government during the regime of former Governor James Onanefe Ibori, in Ughelli axis of the state, but are in the PDP, are equally been hunted for.

The party is angry that Ochei decamped to the Accord Party to realize his Delta North Senatorial District ambition after he lost his governorship bid to Senator Ifeanyi Okowa on December 8, during the PDP primary election.

Omo-Agege, who initially indicated interest in the governorship race on the platform of the PDP, later dumped party when he saw that the coast was clear and teamed up with Chief Great Ogboru, the governorship candidate of the state chapter of the Labour Party, to vie for the Delta Central Senatorial District seat.

Aniocha North PDP Chairman and two others were suspended after after the South South Zonal Vice chairman of the party, Dr. Cairo Ojougbo, gave 48 hours to decampees across the state to return to the PDP.

Their suspension has since been endorsed by Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan at Akwukwu-Igbo in Oshimili North axis of the state during one of Okowa’s rallies when the Governor said: “PDP in the state has no alliance with any opposition party.”

Corroborating the governor, the state chairman of the party, Chief Edwin Uzor, lambasted the decmapees for fanning embers of discord and causing disunity in the party.

According to Uzor, those that were suspended were serving God and mammon, maintaining: “PDP in Delta state has no affinity with any other party.

“Don’t be deceived by the antics of detractors, those that are desperate for power.

“You are either hot or cold or else we will spit you out.”
