The Citadel Global Community Church, Lagos State has released the activities for a weeklong celebration of its Serving Overseer, Pastor Tunde Bakare, who will turn 70 on November 11, 2024.
A statement signed by the Team Lead, Media and Publicity Sub-Committee of the CGCC, Kayode Ladeinde, gave the details of the events.
According to the statement on Monday, the celebration will commence on November 10 with: Appreciation Sunday by Affinity Groups in CGCC.
Ladeinde said the event will have members of the Citadel Global Community Church and affiliated communities come together to express their heartfelt gratitude for his unwavering guidance and leadership over the years.
On November 11, there will be a birthday thanksgiving service and book presentation.

During the event, a special thanksgiving service will be held in honour of Bakare’s life and ministry.
The celebrant will also unveil his latest book: “THE LAST, BUT DEFINITELY NOT THE LEAST—THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF PASTOR TUNDE BAKARE,” which offers insights into his experiences, spiritual journey, socio-political interventions, and vision for the nation and the world.
On November 12, there will be a Law Endowment Fund and solar project commissioning at the University of Lagos, with the theme: “Let There Be Light.”
UNILAG, the celebrant’s alma mater, will witness the launch of a Law Endowment Fund and the commissioning of a solar system for the Department of Law to promote legal education and empower future leaders in the field of justice and governance.
A wellness and health talk, themed: “A formula for a sickness-free life,” to be delivered by Dr. Susana Adams, will take place on November 13, 2024.
This is a session aimed at promoting wellness and healthy living by Adams, the Managing Director of Dr PhysiQ Global Health and Wellness Limited, Abuja, a leading medical practitioner.
It is being organised to highlight the importance of physical and mental health, a cause close to Pastor Tunde Bakare’s heart.
The Inaugural Lecture by The Citadel Centre for Development will be held on November 15, 2024.
The inaugural lecture, organised by the Legal Department of Citadel Global Community Church under the auspices of The Citadel Centre for Development, will x-ray the recent Supreme Court decision on Local Government Autonomy.
It is titled: “Democratic System of Local Government as Third Tier of Government in Nigeria: Matters Arising.”
Prof. Taiwo Osipitan (SAN) will be the Guest Lecturer, while Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), will be the Chairman of the occasion.
Dr. Reuben Abati will moderate the panel session.
The weeklong activities will be wound up with a thanksgiving service at CGCC on November 17, 2023.
This will be to offer gratitude for 70 years of impactful leadership and prophetic-apostolic ministry.
Popularly called PTB, the Serving Overseer of CGCC is a highly respected nation-builder and preacher known for his unflinching stand for righteousness and justice.
He was former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate in the 2011 presidential election on the platform of Congress for Progressive Change.
In 2022, he announced his intention to run for president after Buhari’s second term in office.
He was one of the aspirants at the governing All Progressives Congress presidential primaries in 2023, which produced Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the party’s flag bearer.
He had been harassed and arrested for his messages, which were critical of repressive and oppressive governments in the past, but PTB has remained committed to the socio-political transformation of his country.
His leadership continues to inspire and challenge both the church and the nation to higher ideals of truth and integrity.
Husband of one wife, Layide Bakare, fondly called The Authentic Mrs. B, and father of five children and many grandchildren, he was the Convener of Save Nigeria Group.
