The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has been declared winner in nine out of the 10 local government areas results so far declared in Saturday’s election in Oyo State.
President Muhammadu Buhari, who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, won the remaining one.
Oyo State has 33 local government areas.
The results run contrary to expectations as Buhari won in Oyo State in 2015 to emerge president.
He defeated the then presidential candidate of the PDP, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, with 528,620 votes to 303,376 votes.
