The Minister of Interior and former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, is yet to react to the raging controversies trailing the N407 billion debt incurred by the State.
The position of the Minister of Interior was made known on Sunday by his media aide, Sola Fasure, in a statement.
Governor Ademola Adeleke had recently accused his predecessor, Gboyega Oyetola, of leaving behind over N400 billion debt.
The immediate past Governor, in his reply, however, denied borrowing such an amount, saying he inherited it from his former boss and predecessor, Aregbesola.
Fasure was then quoted by a large section of the media as having defended his boss that he took only two loans while in office, which were fully repaid.
But Fasure in the statement on Sunday noted that he was not authorised to speak for Aregbesola, adding that his comments to a Reporter were misreported and attributed to him by media houses who never had a conversation with me.
Fasure stated: “Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola is focused on his current assignment as the Minister of Interior and will not be distracted by the ongoing bickering.
“The actors involved in the current imbroglio are thus advised to keep his person out of their accusations and counter-accusations.
“If and when the Minister speaks, all media houses will be contacted through the usual channels as it has always been the case.”
