Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue has congratulated the senator representing Benue North-West Senatorial District, Senator Orker Jev, on his Appeal Court victory.
The governor’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, and available to the News Agency of Nigeria in Makurdi.
NAN reports that the Court of Appeal, sitting in Makurdi, had earlier upheld the election of Jev and dismissed the petition of the petitioner for lacking in merit.
Ortom, in the statement, said that the judgment had confirmed the popular decision of the people of Benue North-West Senatorial District during the 2019 elections.
The governor also congratulated the member representing Guma State Constituency, Williams Ortyom, who also emerged victorious at the Court of Appeal in the petition filed against his election by the APC candidate.
He urged Jev and Ortyom to justify the confidence which their constituents reposed in them by giving quality representation at the National and State Assemblies.
