Ooni of Ife visits Ekiti, says new era has come to Yorubaland

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, on Thursday canvassed unity and cooperation among Yoruba traditional rulers and their subjects.
The traditional ruler made the call at different locations during a one-day first official visit to Ekiti State.
It was the first since he became the Ooni.
The three major towns visited by the Ooni were Aramoko Ekiti, Ijero Ekiti and Ado Ekiti.
Oba Ogunwusi said that the need for such cooperation had become imperative in order to usher in new era of peace, unity and development among the people.
He added that such new era of unity among Yoruba traditional rulers that would bring the desired development to their people was already being championed by him and some of the rulers.
The Ooni made his first stopover in Aramoko Ekiti, later at Ijero Ekiti and ended the journey at Ado Ekiti at about 7pm amid crowd of cheering residents who came to welcome him to each of the towns.
The Ooni, who was received by Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State; was welcomed by the Alara of Aramoko Ekiti, Oba Adegoke Adeyemi; the Owa Ajero of Ijero Ekiti, Oba Joseph Adewole in Ijero Ekiti; and the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe, in Ado Ekiti.
The Ile Ife monarch stormed the Alara’s palace at about 12.20pm and was received by other royal fathers, including the Olohan of Erijiyan Ekiti, Oba Adegoroye Omosebi; the Elerio of Erio Ekiti, Oba Johnson Bamigbade; the Olupole of Ipole-Iloro, Oba Babalola Oladele; and the Onikogosi of Ikogosi Ekiti, Oba Elijah Olorunnisola.
He was accompanied to the state by the Orangun of Ila, Oba Wahab Oyedotun, and other traditional rulers in Ifeland.
Oba Ogunwusi said he was happy to be in company of the Alara of Aramoko, the Orangun of Ila Orangun and the Ajero of Ijero Ekiti, the three direct sons of Oduduwa on the same day.
Ogunwusi said: “I thank God for the opportunity to come here today; we Obas are nothing before the Almighty God because God is the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
“It is God who installs kings; He is the King today, tomorrow and forever. I am so happy to have the Orangun to my right and the Alara to my right and we are all seeing the Ajero together.
“Unity has come to Yoruba land, there is nothing like unity, it is my prayer that our youths will be gainfully employed, the barren will be fruitful and when there is unity, there will be development and things will go well.
“The new era in Yoruba land will bring good things to us, we want our youths to be empowered, businessmen and businesswomen to be prosperous in their businesses, peace will reign in the entire yorubaland.”
In an address, Governor Fayose thanked the Ooni for the visit and commended him for the peace and unity agenda that he had been preaching across the country since ascending the throne.
