Suspected youths of Anguwan Rogo and Zinaria community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State on Sunday attacked a private radio station, Unity FM, and journalists of other electronics media.
Report also said a Daily Trust correspondent was among those attacked when the youths were tracing a Peoples Democratic Party member and the PDP governorship campaign coordinator for Jos North, Muhammed Adam, for allegedly tagging a religious scholar and youths who had stoned him the previous day as Boko Haram members during a chat with journalists.
Adam is said to have made an instigating remarks before he rushed out of the station accompanied by security operatives.
Unknowingly, the irate youths had gathered before journalists could leave the building and started stoning the journalists, demanding the handing over of Adam and threatened to burn the building.
They damaged five cars, including the personal car of the Daily Trust correspondent in Jos.
One life was reported lost and a youth leader from Zinaria community, who tried to calm them down, lost his right eye.
The youths also burnt down the politician’s family home and his brother’s house in Anguwan Rogo after his family had been evacuated.
Eyewitness account said the one person killed was during the intervention of the operatives of the Special Task Force, who came to disperse the youths.
Adam had been stoned out of his Anguwan Rogo polling unit on Saturday when he tried to vote before the end of accreditation.
