The All Progressives Congress primary in Ondo State to pick its candidate for the November 16, 2024 governorship election recorded a large turnout of members at the designated centres at the wards.
The News Agency of Nigeria is reporting that the primary at various wards in Okitipupa, however, suffered a delay.
This was as party officials and those of the Independent National Electoral Commission did not arrive on time.
At Ward 1 at Stella Maris College, Ward 2 at LA Primary School and Ayeka/Igbidigo Ward in Ayeka, large enthusiastic party members gathered at the venues waiting for the arrival of officials to conduct the election.
There was also the presence of security personnel, including the police and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps at the various election venues in the wards.
Chief John Ebisanmi, a chieftain of APC in Okitipupa, told NAN that party members are ready to vote for their preferred aspirants.
He said the voting process was supposed to have started by 8am, but the officials of INEC and APC were yet to arrive.

Ebisanmi expressed confidence that with the security measures put in place, the exercise would be hitch-free.
“You can see that APC members are ready for the process, but right now sorting of validated members are not done because INEC officials are not here yet,” he said.
