Super Eagles’ midfielder, Ogenyi Eddy Onazi, looks set to get a new improved deal at his Serie A side, Lazio, as the player is now valued at 500,000 Euro per season.
The Eagle Online gathered that the new improved deal by Lazio is aimed at warding off interests from Fiorentina and other European clubs from the player.
Rumours also have it that Fiorentina’s interest prompts Lazio’s President, Claudio Lotito, to adopt a strategy to stop the talented Nigerian from dumping the club until he sees out his contract in June of 2016.
The Lazio boss is also determined to increase Onazi’s earnings from €200,000 per season so that other interested clubs can offer more to secure services of the player.
Lotito is expected to meet with the player’s agent, Kevin Fioranelli, before Christmas period to table the sum of 500 thousand Euros per season.
It was however gathered that Lazio may allow the player go if interested clubs offer 15million Euro.
Onazi joined Lazio in 2011 following his impressive performances at the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup, in which Nigeria reached the final on home soil, losing to Switzerland.
He was promoted to the first team during the 2011/12 season after impressing at youth level.
