Super Eagles’ combative midfielder, Ogenyi Eddy Onazi is set to join Bundesliga outfit, Eintracht Frankfurt after failing to secure an improved deal at SS Lazio of Italy.
The Eagle Online gathered that the negotiations between the Lazio and the agent of the Brazil 2014 midfielder failed to yield desired results. The Biancoceleste offered $600,000, which was a shortfall of $1 million the player is requesting for to remain at the club.
The player is likely to take a trip to Germany to sign the dotted lines for Frankfurt if Lazio fails to bring to table a new improved deal.
On the other hand, Onazi who is highly respected in England can realise his dreams of playing in the Premiership as Southampton and Sunderland are also keeping a tab on the player’s transfer situation in Italy.
The Nigerian also attracted interest from Liverpool and Merseyside rivals, Everton after putting in some impressive performances for the Serie A club.
Late last year, Onazi had spoken about a move to the Premier League, and how he would jump if given a chance. He also had praise for Liverpool and mentioned that he could see himself playing for the Anfield club.
“I would jump at the chance to play in the Premier League,” Onazi said.
