Olagunsoye Oyinlola, 3,896 others called to Bar

A former Governor of Osun State and National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, was on Tuesday called to the Bar.
Oyinlola was among the 3,897 law students who were given the licence to practice law by the Nigerian Law School, having passed the 2012 Bar final examination.
Five thousand four hundred and forty-nine students sat for the Bar examination in August.
Out of them, nine had first class,195 second class upper, 900 second class lower and 2,783 pass.
The remaining 1,552 failed the examination.
They have the option of a resit.
The Director General of the Nigerian Law School, Dr. Tahir Mamman, said at the Call to Bar ceremony in Abuja on Tuesday that the new lawyers should be job creators and not job seekers.
Mamman said the knowledge gained in the Nigerian Law School should be enough to enable them stand on their own.
