A former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has been released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission after spending two nights in detention.
This was disclosed by an aide of the former Governor on Thursday.
The aide said Okorocha was released around 5:45pm and in his Maitama residence in Abuja.
Okorocha, who was arrested on Tuesday at about 4:10pm at his Unity House office located in Garki, Abuja, was governor of Imo State between 2011 and 2019.
He was accused of embezzlement and misappropriation.
He has since refuted the allegation.
