The leader of the African Democratic Congress in Adamawa State, Senator Abdul-Azeez Nyako, has said party is growing by the day as the state chapter on Saturday held a congress to elect members of the state executive council of the party.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the executives emerged through affirmation by delegates from the 21 local government areas of the state.
Alhaji Yahya Hamman-Julde emerged Chairman, while Mallam Dauda Dautiye became Deputy Chairman.
Thd others are: Musa Hamman-Adama, Secretary; Umar Abubakar, Treasurer; Shuaibu Isa, Organising Secretary; Farouk Muhammed, Publicity Secretary; Mohammed Adamu, Youth Leader; and Zainab Bello, Woman Leader.
In his acceptance speech, Hamman-Julde thanked ADC members for having confidence in him.
He pledged to carry the members along.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Congress Committee, Alhaji Mijinyawa Kugama, lauded the maturity shown by the party members toward a hitch-free congress.
He urged maximum support for the new executives to ensure the party’s success in the 2019 General Elections.
The Leader of the party in the state, Senator Abdul-Azeez Nyako (Adamawa Central), who recently defected from the All Progressives Congress, said the successful conduct of ADC’s congresses at all levels in the state showed growth.
He urged new executives of the party at all levels to ensure justice and fairness.
The party came into prominence following its adoption by former President Olusegun Obasanjo as the platform to use for the renewal of the country in 2019.
Since then, several prominent politicians have joined the party.
One of the latest catches is a former Governor of Oyo State and one of the founding members of the Peoples Democratic Party and Accord Party, Senator Rashidi Ladoja.
