Abejoye Oyeniyi of Lagos State has set a new record in the 110m hurdles finals at the ongoing National Sports Festival, tagged: “Edo 2020.”
An elated Oyeniyi said: “I am happy to have set a new record, though I thought I was going to get a better time, but all thanks to God,” as he clocked a time of 13.78s to the win the gold in the event held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin on Friday.
“I have developed more confidence and am looking forward to getting better with my pace, as I prepare for the African Senior championships in Algeria in June,” he told the News Agency of Nigeria in an interview at the end of the race.
