The crisis rocking the Nigeria Premier League is far from over despite the impeachment of the league board.
The latest in the crisis is the alleged feud between the Nigeria Football Federation and club owners over the composition of the Interim Management Committee for the NPL.
While the club owners have nominated and are insisting on their representatives on the committee, some interests in the NFF are said to be pushing for other nominees outside those nominated by the club owners.
This development is threatening the proposed January 2013 kick off date of the Premier League.
It was gathered that an executive member of the NFF from the South South is insisting that club owners should not have representatives in the Interim Committee.
The NFF member, it was learnt, is sympathetic to the impeached NPL Chairman, Chief Victor Rumson Baribote, and has vowed to frustrate the club owners from having a say in the composition of the Interim Committee.
A prominent club owner, however, hinted that if the National League could have club owners on the board of the Nigeria National League, nothing stops them from having representatives in the NPL management committee.
The source said: “I think the NFF is trying to cause another cycle of crisis if they fail to allow our representatives on the Interim Committee of the NPL.
“Except we are carried along, the league will not start in January.”
