Rangers International Football Club of Enugu on Wednesday drew 1-1 with hosts Kano Pillars FC in a week 25 match of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports the match at the Sani Abacha Stadium was watched by a large number of spectators.
The crowd included home fans who defied the scorching sun and Ramadan fast to cheer their darling team to victory.

But the visiting team surprised the hosts with good resilience from the first to the last blast of the referee’s whistle.
Mubarak Sani opened the scoring in the 27th minute for Kano Pillars, only for Collins Ugueze to equalise for the visiting Rangers side in the 52nd minute of the entertaining game.
Speaking after the game, the Rangers coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, said his team played against a good team and the best coach in the league.
Ilechukwu said coming to Kano Pillars to pick a point was therefore not a joke because of the team’s high pedigree.
“I commend my players for the result,” the coach added.
Speaking also, Abdu Maikaba, the Head Coach of Kano Pillars, attributed the result to fatigue and the Ramadan fast.
“Our players’ system is not yet used to the fast, because Ramadan is just a few days,” he said.
Maikaba nonetheless commended his team for the result, and promised to ensure they picked the maximum points away.
