NOUN matriculates 250 students in Jigawa

Not less than 250 students on Saturday matriculated at the National Open University for the 2013/2014 academic year at Dutse, Jigawa State Study Centre.
The Director of the centre, Malam Abdullahi Dogo, announced this during the 11th matriculation ceremony held in Dutse, Jigawa State.
Dogo charged the students to obey the school rules and regulations and be dedicated to their studies.
According to him, NOUN has 52 study centres across the 36 states of the federation, including Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
Dogo urged people to take the advantage offered by NOUN to improve their educational status.
In his speech, Prof. Vincent Tenebe, the Vice Chancellor, said: “NOUN is an open and distant learning institution that is inclined to e-learning.”
Tenebe added that anyone could enroll wherever he or she was residing.
Tenebe explained that NOUN had all the programmes of studies compared to the conventional universities, including Communication and Information Technology.
Also speaking at the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Dutse, Prof. Jibrila Amin, said that “the degree of NOUN is as valid as that of the conventional university”.
Amin charged the students to abide by the matriculation oath and shun examination malpractice and other negative acts.
