Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) on Monday expressed sadness over the death of Galadiman Kano, Alhaji Hashim who died at the age of 79.
Chairman of the forum and Governor of Niger state, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Israel Ebije, described his death as a loss to the North and the country.
Dr. Aliyu therefore condoled with the family of the deceased, Kano state emirate council, the Governor and people of Kano state.
According to him “Nigeria has lost another prominent son. The Galadiman Kano will be missed not only as a royalty but a bridge builder and a man of peace who had the interest of the country at heart.
“While we mourn him, I am indeed happy he was able to leave behind good legacy as a leader who helped in shaping the North positively. His contributions to national discuss will also remain indelible.”
The chairman of the forum said Hashim was a mentor to many successive leaders in the North. He maintained a patriotic disposition to national issues regardless of religious or ethnic dimension.
Aliyu therefore urged Nigerians to immortalize the late Galadiman by preserving his legacies as a true patriot who used his lifetime to work towards making Nigeria a prosperous, peaceful and great country.
He prayed Allah to grant him Aljanna Firdaus. He also pray Allah grant the family of Hashim the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss and urged them to take solace in the fact that one day every soul must taste death.
