The Super Eagles Head Coach, Stephen Keshi, has dismissed with a wave of the hand the insinuation over the return of the duo of Joseph Yobo and Peter Osaze Odemwingie.
Keshi said Yobo and Odemwingie do not have a place in the team now.
Keshi said: “I don’t think it is possible for Osaze and Yobo to make the list of the Confederation Cup because we have already picked the 30 players for the tournament and once you pick it like that, it is like World Cup.
“Once you submit the 30-man team list, it will be registered until you pick the final 23-man list from it. And you pick the 23-man team, the only way to replace a player if there is a certified reason to do so within that period.
“So, I don’t know where the report of their coming back into the team for the tournament and busy June schedule is coming from. But, I have always said that every Nigerian player has every chance to come back to the team unless he does not want to play for Nigeria anymore.”
Keshi also said there were no updates on his programmes for the World Cup qualifiers and the Confederation Cup as they remain as earlier released.
He said: “There is no more updates on the programme and I believe we will leave the country in 10 days time, precisely on May 16, to Germany. We will stay there for 10 to 12 days before heading to USA to play the international friendly match against Mexico. I want to believe that my programme is still intact.”
