A member of the All Progressives Congress National Caucus and Leader of Abia State Caucus, Chief Sam Nkire, has described President Muhammadu Buhari’s performance in his first year in office as “more than satisfactory “.
Commenting on Buhari’s first year in office, Nkire said given the mess the President found on assumption of office, no one could have done better than him in the prevailing circumstance.
The APC chieftain added that President Buhari’s records, especially in the areas of combating insurgency and fighting corruption, were there for the whole world to see.
On the economy, Chief Nkire said it was obvious that President Buhari used the last one year to lay the foundation for a glorious economic future for Nigeria.
According to him, the President’s actions so far have shown that he was focused on changing Nigeria for the better, adding that the provisions he made in the 2016 budget were a testimony to the fact that he meant to achieve his promises and set goals.
Meanwhile, Nkire has applauded the Nigeria Labour Congress for heeding the call of Nigerians to call off the strike action it embarked on following recent the increase in the price of petrol.
Nkire said this singular act showed that the NLC was indeed a worthy partner in progress, adding that the APC administration was out to solve the problems of the masses and not to compound them.
