The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has predicted partly cloudy to sunny and hazy weather conditions over most parts of the country with prospect of localised thunderstorms over parts of Southern States on Thursday.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Wednesday, in Abuja, predicted partly cloudy to sunny conditions over the Central States with slim chances of localised thunderstorms over Ilorin, Abuja, Minna and Bida in the morning.
It also predicted that the region would experience day and night temperatures in the ranges of 30 to 37 and 15 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
The agency predicted that the Northern States would experience sunny and hazy conditions with day and night temperatures of 31 to 35 and 14 to 18 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, Southern States will experience cloudy to partly cloudy conditions with chances of localised thunderstorms over Ondo, Oshogbo, Lagos, Ijebu-Ode, Calabar and Port Harcourt in the morning hours.
NiMet predicted: “In the afternoon and evening period, localised thunderstorms are likely over Lagos, Akure, Ado-Ekiti, Enugu, Umuahia, Awka and coastal axis with day and night temperatures of 30 to 38 and 20 to 28 degrees Celsius respectively.
“There is influx in moist winds in to the country therefore chances of partly cloudy with intermittent sunny conditions are likely over Central States.
“There are slim chances of localised thunderstorms over Central and Southern cities within the next 24 hours.”
