Gent winger Samuel Kalu is dreaming big – he wants to play in the Premier League for Manchester City in the future.
The 20-year-old Nigerian is currently plying his trade in Belgium’s top flight with Gent and speaking to Het Laatste Nieuws, said his ultimate dream is a move to England and playing alongside Kevin De Bruyne at the Etihad Stadium.
“CSKA Moscow wanted me and I knew the Russian league was a good step forward, but my agent assured me AA Gent would be the best step for me. I can only say he was right.
“I want to play at a big club, win a lot of medals and trophies, I want to become the best player in Africa, I’m a bit of the same type of player as Mo Salah, who was voted the best African player.
“I will always follow in his footsteps, my biggest dream, but I have to go to the Premier League first.
“Manchester City is my dream club: playing with Kevin De Bruyne, but first I want to win a trophy with AA Gent,” he stated.
Kalu has scored 4 goals and contributed 2 assists in 17 Jupiler League appearances for Gent this season, with a goal contribution every 282 minutes.
Transfermarkt values him at €4million and his current contract runs to 2020.
A move to Manchester City seems a long way off for the winger, but it never hurts to dream big.
