The Board of the Nigeria Women League has disqualified six teams that participated in the play off of the 2012/2013 Women Amateur League.
In a statement by the Secretary of the Board, Isaac Ajisafe, the teams were disqualified for going contrary to certain sections of the rules and regulations governing the Nigeria Women League.
According to Ajisafe: “The Board of the Nigeria Women League at its meeting held on Wednesday 16th January, 2013 has reviewed the decisions of the Organizing Committee of the 2012 Women Amateur League play-off held late last year, and on the appeal from clubs, and based on Article 2.2(4) and (9) of the rules and regulations governing the Nigeria Women League, has disqualified the following teams: State House FC of Abuja, Laraba Shoda FC of Shagamu, Martins White FC of Benin, VGN Queens FC of Akure and Beautiful Tour Angels FC of Abuja.
“Consequently, Shettima Babes FC of Abuja and C.I. Angels of Asaba have emerged winners of the Amateur League play-off, and are therefore qualified to play in the Women Professional League 2013.”
