The Nigeria Football Supporters Club has appointed Delta State sport philanthropist, Felix Anirah, as its National Patron.
NFSC National Chairman, Rev. Samuel Ikpea and other top officials of the club decorated Anirah as its patron at the Sapele Athletics Club on Sunday.
Ikpea said in a statement that Anirah was made NFSC national patron because of his love and passion for the development of sport and youth empowerment.
He said: “Decorating you as our patron has been divinely planned by God because of your enormous contribution to youth development.
“Your contributions to the society have earned you this honour which is the first of its kind for an indigene of Delta State.”
Accepting the appointment, Anirah said he was overwhelmed by the gesture, adding that the honour would spur him to do more for youths in the state and the country at large.
He said: “I am happy and honoured for this kind gesture and love by Nigeria Football Supporters Club, this will encourage me to do more for the youth in the society.
“I will encourage more of my friends and associates to support and rally round the club for always representing the country creditably at home and abroad.”
Also honoured at the occasion was Peoples’ Democratic Party Chairman in Delta state, Kingsley Esiso, who was decorated as NFSC Ambassador.
