NDLEA arrests 20 suspects over 61.465Kg hard drugs in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Command of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency has arrested 20 suspects in connection with 61.465kg of hard drugs.
The State Commander of the Agency, Musa Kibo, disclosed this to newsmen in Yola on Thursday.
Kibo said the suspects were arrested at Yola Abattoir and Jambutu Central Motor Park, adding that the arrest was made possible following the Command’s efforts to rid the society of drugs.
He pointed out that the operation was conducted to dislodge some major drug abuse joints in Yola, saying large quantity of Tramadol 250mg was seized from the suspects.
He said: The Command during its relentless raid dislodged drug joints, which include Yola Abattoir, Market, Jambutu Motor Park, Madam Street and Falujah Market.
“A total of 20 suspects were arrested and seizure of 61.456 Kg of assorted hard drugs such as Cannabis Sativa, Tramadol 250mg, Diazepam, Rophnol, cough syrup with codeine and extol-5.
“The Command alone cannot successfully win the war against drug abuse and illicit trafficking.”
The Commander said the agency under his watch was making all efforts to rescue and clear the state from the grip of drugs and other related dealers who are merchants of destruction and death.
Kibo called on the public, government, traditional and religious leaders in the state to join hands together to address the dangerous drugs menace and consumption in the state.
