The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation, Senator Danjuma Goje, has disclosed that the National Assembly has put to end the issue of double and uncoordinated budgeting lines.
Goje made this known during the joint budget hearing of both chamber of the National Assembly on Wednesday.
He said the National Assembly was able to end double and uncoordinated budgeting lines through interaction with stakeholders.
He said: “It is also important to state that this Assembly has made remarkable achievements from its interaction with stakeholders in the budget hearing.
“It has among other things helped in tackling the issue of double and uncoordinated budgeting lines, identifying and making adequate budgetary provisions for items that were not captured in the Executive proposal.
“For instance, the provision made for pensioners complaints in 2017 budget that brought respite to those affected.
“Again in 2018, provision was made for the one per cent health sector Act from the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federal Government and ensuring a balanced sectoral/zonal distribution of the project and programme with focus on the ERGP.
“Indeed, the 8th National Assembly owes these achievements to the contributions of stakeholders in this process.”
