The Nasarawa State House of Assembly on Tuesday confirmed 16 nominees to serve as commissioners in the state.
News Agency of Nigeria recalls Governor Abdullahi Sule on February 10 sent the names of 16 nominees to the assembly for confirmation.
Danladi Jatau, Speaker of the assembly, congratulated the nominees for successfully passing through the screening exercise.
He, however, urged them to initiate policies and programmes in their would-be ministries for the greater good of the state.
Jatau also urged them to live above board while discharging their official responsibilities.
He commended the governor for picking the best hands that would drive his policy thrust, adding that the nominees were carefully selected from across the 13 Local Government Areas of the state.
He said: “The 16 nominees earlier sent to this house by the governor for confirmation have all availed themselves for the screening exercise.

“We have screened and found all of them worthy to serve the state at the executive level.
“This assembly hereby confirms their nomination to serve as commissioners in the state.”
The Speaker, thereafter, directed the Clerk of the assembly to communicate its resolution to the governor for further action.
NAN reports that while 10 LGAs had one nominee each, Lafia, Doma and Wamba LGAs had two nominees each.
